Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru – Episode 6

The Twilight Tea Ceremony starts and Kougetsu An catches on fire right in the middle of it! To make matters worse, Nao and the matreon gets into an argument and Tsubaki overhears Nao claiming that she’s Sakura. What does Tsubaki do? Will he be able to forgive her?

Translation Notes/Trivia

  • Sweets
    • The yellow paste is made out of white bean paste, combined with eggs, sugar and heavy cream, so it’s a very sweet and creamy paste.
    • In the scene where Tsubaki is talking about adding shadows, he actually says “using a black toothpick (to add shadows).” Now, “black toothpick” (黒文字) is the official name for the toothpick used to decorate the sweets, as well as what they used to cut and eat with. However, it’s not always black. The name comes from the fact that it used to be made of camphorwood, which had black spots. Today, plastic or stainless versions of this toothpick are called sweets knife (菓子切), just to keep “black toothpicks” unique to wood-based ones.
  • Tree names
    • Cosmos is written as “Autumn Sakura” in Japanese.
    • Autumnalis higan cherry is written as “October Sakura” in Japanese.
  • While the matreon generically called it “airing out the kimono”, Japanese culture actually has unique names depending on what time of the year you air out the kimono.
    • In February (the driest time of the year), it’s called winter refresh.
    • In July (after rainy season ends), it’s called dirt removal refresh.
    • In September (after summer ends, around Higan Festival), it’s called Higan refresh.

  1. after 3 years Sakura looks prettier and Tsubaki looks more handsome 😍 Omg can’t wait for next week’s episode. I wonder what tsubaki’s reaction when he heard that Sakura once carried his child. This story keeps getting more interesting waiting for 1 week is really a torture

  2. Thank you so much for the sub, i wonder how they going to end this. somehow i hope they going to stop where the current manga is so there will be season 2 later ^^
