- Sweets
- Kuzu-zakura (literally “kuzu flour cherry blossom”) gets it name from the kuzu flour used to make the exterior shell.
- Uchi-mizu (literally “splash water”). The holy water is used to sprinkle the entrance before a ceremonial event, such as what Nao was doing in the last scene. I suspect the sweet was named as after how “fresh” and “cool” it looks.
- The maternal and child health handbook (the yellow book Nao found in the attic) is a government-issued book to all expecting mothers, tracking from pregnancy to the child’s first 6 years.
