#Remolove — Episode 4

Mimi figures out that Lemon may be Aobayashi… but Aobayashi still have no idea who Grass Mochi is. Or does he? What’s going to happen between Mimi and last episode’s Lemon (aka Gomoji)?

Translation Notes/Trivia

  • Language
    • Bonding over drinks is 飲みニケーション (nomi-nication). It’s a combination of the word to drink (nomu) and communication.
  • Culture
    • The popular song that inspired the username Lemon would be… Lemon by Yonezu Kenshi
    • Katsu-don without skin– this is a liberal translation. Literally, it’s tonkatsu on top of rice, but the tonkatsu don’t have any deep fried “skin” attached to it. Some people prefer it this way because it’s healthier.
    • “Kid’s ceremony”. In Japan, they celebrate girls turning 3 and 7 and boys turning 5 with a ceremony called Shichi-go-san (7-5-3). In this context, Yagihara is saying “I know this suit makes me look out of place (like a 5-year old donning a suit) but it’s not for a kid’s ceremony.”

  1. Another great episode! I almost thought Aobayashi would ask Dr.Mimi out but then he didn’t. It would have been pretty out of character for him to do that though so soon after breaking up with his girlfriend so I liked that swerve at the end. It was pretty funny too haha. Dr.Mimi really isn’t accepting her feelings lol I wonder what is so bad about Aobayashi that he is worst than his supervisor. Excited for the next episode!

  2. Thank you so much for subbing this drama! At such great speed too!

At the scene where Aobayashi spilled drinks on his back, he shouted “shakke (しゃっけ),” which means “it’s cold!” in the Morioka dialect.

It’s a such small thing and probably no one cares, but I couldn’t resist from pointing it out, since Aochan is such a gentle soul, it’d be so out of character for him to have said the f-word.

Of course, there is no one right answer to translation and this is just my humble opinion! Again, thank you so much for the hard work! 😀
