#Remolove — Episode 1

Ozakura Mimi once had her heart broken by a man who compared her to French cuisine and said he preferred chazuke (a very plain tea over rice dish). Since that day, she has compared every man against food and ruled out anyone that wasn’t “the world’s best steak”. At work, she’s a no-nonsense, strictly-business occupational health physicial, and her latest job is to enforce preventative measures at work. She was happy with her life until… one day… she meets Lemon online.

Translation Notes/Trivia

• Food
  • Chazuke (sometimes called ochazuke) is a very plain tea over rice meal with maybe some cheap garnish like pickles, seaweed, and sesame seeds.
  • Zaru-soba is are cold buckwheat noodles, usually served on a bamboo platter. It’s meant to be a chilled dish, enjoyed during summer, to cool you off.
  • Hambaagu is a Japanese take on meatloaf, shaped like a hamburger bun. It usually had bread crumbs, eggs, onions, and cheese inside.
  • Grass Mochi or kusa mochi is usually mochi made out of yomogi leaf (which gives it the green color). Most stores sell it without the leaves wrapped around it, but in this show, they purposely picked ones with leaves on them.
• Culture
  • Snow Monster is really Yuki-onna, a snow spirit haunting people.
  • Candies is a 70s pop band, with member Ran, Sue and Miki.
  • Minami Haruo was a famous singer from the Showa Era.
