Ayu is booked full of TV appearances, commercials, recordings, music video filmings, and interviews. She and Masa starts living together in his high-end luxury condo. But there is one thing Masa is after– a breakout hit song.

Translation Notes/Trivia

• Japan Record of the Year Award (renamed to Asian Record of the year Award in the drama) and Kohaku Uta Gassen are both televised music shows at the end of the year. Kohaku is the most-watched music show in Japan, so anybody who is anybody wants to on it.
• Cultural difference: Picking outfit.This is a pretty common milestone in Japanese couples. There’s a stereotype that single guys dress to impress ladies, so by relinquishing that control and letting their girlfriend/wife pick outfits for them, they’re saying “I don’t care how I look to others, as long as you think I’m hot.” On the flip side, there are also people that think a guy’s fashion is a reflection of the girlfriend/wife’s fashion sense, so she needs to make sure he dresses well. In western culture, it happens with small articles of clothing, but it’s not as common for the girl to dictate the guy’s entire outfit.
• Behind the scenes **spoiler**: In the scene where Reika goes crazy on the cymbals, they said Kalen (who plays Ayu) was having such a hard time keeping a straight face that she ended up hiding her face behind Shohei’s back.
