- Fond de veau is veal stock. The president is telling Asuka that, on one hand, she’s worse than calf. She is like the essence of veal (dead calf), so that’s not much of a compliment. On the other hand, she is also saying that Asuka is like soup stock which help bring out the best in the other ingredients aka the 8LOOM members. It’s a very weird compliment, overall.
