Based on the book of the same name by Toyoko Yamasaki, this is a story about Japanese-Americans (called Nikkei) living in America at the time World War II breaks out. The story spans 3 generations, 64 years of family history as they work together to survive the tumultuous era.
This drama was produced in celebration of Tokyo TV’s 55th anniversary, so they went all out and even hired some American actors and actresses.
The drama was aired in 2 parts, with each part being 2 hours in length. The fansubs will be released one-hour at a time, in a total of 4 parts.
