Hanamaki Mikoto has an unique talent in which he can foresee how a person dies. And he is also an emergency medical technician (EMT) who works at Yokohama Sakurazaka fire station. During his shift, his team gets a call about a man who has suffered a heart attack. Mikoto “sees” this man’s future and tries his best to change the outcome, but could he succeed?
Translation Notes/Trivia
- In Japan, ambulance is free, and they’re deployed on-demand like firetrucks or police cars.
- In Japan, instead of 911, you dial 119 for emergencies.
- Funeral duty is slightly different for different cultures but in general, you clean/sweep the tomb, you offer food, and you light incense and pray/talk to them. Generally you offer the food, leave some behind, and take the rest home to share with the family. What’s left behind is then cleaned up by the grave caretaker.
