Yokoso, Wagaya e – Episode 2

At Taichi’s company, Nishizawa finds another case of expense reporting fraud and alerts Taichi. This time, one of the manager at their distribution department is claiming expenses for dinners with a company he has no business interacting with. Furthermore, according to people in his department, this manager is not known to be the type to go out after work. As Nishizawa and Taichi go to investigate, all road leads to… where else? Mase.

Meanwhile, the vandalism escalates. This time, it’s not just targeting Genta or his bike, but it’s purposely hurting Genta’s other family members. Genta decides it’s time to get a surveillance camera installed for the house.

Translation Notes/Trivia

• In one scene, Keiko gets invited out to tea. However, the more localized pick up line is to get coffee, so the line was changed to “get coffee” instead.
• Doraemon and Sazae-san are both classic anime franchise in Japan. Sazae-san is a story about the Sazae family, and very much similar to the Simpsons. Doraemon is a cat-shaped robot from the future, with high-tech abilities and befriends a timid boy. The boy, with the help of his new friend, becomes confident enough to face his bullies.
  • Bonus for Arashi fans: For one of the magazine interviews, Arashi was asked to dress up as their hero. Nino dressed up as Doraemon… Not for the faint of the heart. But Nino is a bigger Doraemon fan than average. He even has a huge Doraemon stuffed animal (think costco size) and he has said “I love sitting in this chair and watching (Doraemon on) TV”. He even has a week worth of Doraemon boxers.
