Commentary
I liked the overall story and how they revealed “who’d done it” over 10 episodes, but the ending really bothered me. And I figured out why after I did some online searching.
SPOILER ALERT!
The original story has Kenta slashing Mr. Anonymous’s bicycle, and that makes total sense. The tagline should have been “This is the story of an average family and the stalker that pushed them to their limit… and past that point, to where the family finally broke and committed a hate crime.” It would have been a story about how everyone tries to live life honestly and fairly, but it’s human nature to have emotions overtake your rational thought and you end up lashing out at someone unfairly. And that would have been a perfectly good message.
But they had to force a heroine in the story because it’s a drama, and then they had her commit a crime, and their explanation of why she did it makes no sense because it’s covered in the last 15 minutes of the show.
