Translation Notes/Trivia

• The manga she’s using as her “reference” this episode (flashed at 5 minute mark) is Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, a classic by Yazawa Ai (same one who did as Nana and Paradise Kiss).
• When Ruri referenced M&Ms, in Japanese, she actually says “Marble Chocolate” which was something very similar to M&M sold by Meiji Corp.
• “An uphill battle” — In Japanese, they use the phrase “road full of thorns”. However, the expectation is not for you to step carefully and avoid getting cut, but rather to get hurt and keep going. You can’t improve without a little bit of blood and grime.
