Translation Notes/Trivia
- Room dimensions: Japanese rooms are typically measured in terms of the number of tatami mats, rather than square-feet. Tatami mat sizes are standardized. Koya’s apartment is the size of 6-tatami mats (called 6畳) which roughly comes out to be 117 square feet.

- Hachi, is of course, referring to the famous Akita, Hachi.
