Translation Notes/Trivia
- “Kokutan Tea” is a made-up tea in this drama series. It’s suppose to be a type of black tea.
- The opening scene has Kuwano in a show room with a bunch of toilets. To understand why such a place exists, you have to understand how Japanese people “buy houses.” First, Japanese believe houses are depreciating assets and most people prefer to build a new house. Second, rather than buying a new cookie-cutter construction, Japanese people would usually buy the land, hire the architect to design the house, then go to these showrooms to pick out appliances and fixtures.
