Sakura and Tendo starts dating while working together! Things were going well. She was working hard and he was being nice… But there is a new inpatient who is actually the son of the head nurse, who throws a wrench into Sakura and Tendo’s plan. Will they learn to work together and be in a relationship?

Translation Notes/Trivia

  • Medical Jargon
    • Arrhythmia is the medical term for irregular heartbeat.
    • Ablation, as described in the episode, uses energy to destroy heart tissues. However, the episode is only describing one type–radiofrequency ablation. There are other types including using heat or extreme cold.
    • VT (ventricular tachycardia) is a heart condition in which your ventricles (the lower chambers) beat too quickly.
    • Isuprel is a brand-name for isoproterenol, which helps with breathing.
  • Foods
    • Mont blanc is whip cream with pureed chestnut decorated on top. I’m not sure why it’s so crazy popular in Japan but it’s the “hip” thing to eat right now.
    • Soboro-Don has been translated as “chicken taco bowl” because it’s ground chicken on rice with eggs and other vegetables

    • Valentine’s Day in Japan is traditionally a holiday where girls give chocolate to guys. And you generally make it more special the more special the recipient is. For example, you’ll give store-bought chocolate to your coworkers, but you’ll make your own chocolate for your significant other.

        1. Oh he was to die for in 2004 taiga drama, shinsengumi! The manga and drama don’t follow the exact same story line but the characters are all there with same personalities.

            I skimmed through the manga and for some reason the characters in the drama I liked a bit more than the manga lol.
