Trivia/Translator’s Notes
- The last name on the research paper is reserved for the supervisor or principal advisor who oversaw the project, and he gets full credit. That’s why it’s significant that Dr. Sugai will get the credit, rather than Dr. Saeki (who is Dr. Takashina’s day-to-day supervisor).
- Aortic dissection = a serious medical condition where there is a tear in the inner layer of the aorta, the largest artery in the body, which can lead to separation of the layers and potentially life-threatening complications
- Nekota’s name is Neko (cat) + Ta (a common surname suffix for farmers) hence why she’s often referred to as “cat” or “kitty”.
