A group of activists led by a lawyer, Tojima Kazuko, attempts to sue Tojo University’s Dr. Amagi, calling him a scammer and a fraud. But turns out, she has a heart condition that seems only Dr. Amagi can fix. Refusing to back down from her beliefs, she seeks out an AI Doctor to help her with the surgery instead.
Trivia/Translator’s Notes
- “VF” stands for ventricular fibrillation. It is a life-threatening heart rhythm that results in the lower chambers of the heart quivering instead of contracting properly, preventing the heart from pumping blood effectively.
- Angiogenesis stimulators are agents that stimulate the formation of new blood vessels.
- “Heel” and “Toe” are not conventional jargon in cardiovascular surgery. However, one twitter user @kouyouer123 explains it (with videos!): The right side (of the video) is the “heel”, and the left side is the “toe”. The shape of the finished graft resembles a foot , which is why it is described as having a “heel” and a “toe”. The inner and outer sides of the graft are referred to as the “side”. When blood flows through the graft, the “toe” is designed to expand, allowing for better blood flow. This design is said to improve the circulation of blood.
